you can get pregnant on your period. I thought the period was the death of the egg. But according to Bridgit and Cary, you can get pregnant on your period. why would you have sex on your period anyway? That's a bloody mess! And EWWWW....

This website explains everything about periods! I was so surprised about some things. It gives the definition of a period and by that definition, I don't think you can get pregnant on your period. I'm gonna keep looking. If anyone has more advice, let me know in a comment!

Yes, you certainly can get pregnant on your period... though most people (mostly guys) don't want to have sex during the period not only because it's messy but also because it stinks - very badly.
What most women don't know is that ovulation does not actually end until a few days after your cycle ends. Now if you're like me you don't ovulate and don't have a period (thank you birth control!) and so don't have any fear of getting pregnant.
Personally I would recommend getting on some type of birth control if you're not already, not b/c of having sex which you're not *awesome btw* but because it helps to regulate the cycles so that they can be calendar clocked and it can also help if you have skin problems such as eczima or acne
